TalkScience: Innovators - Seeing Tomorrow & Playing to Win

April 04, 2018 – Kansas City, MO

Dr. Billings engages his viewers in designing “Tecker fish” — a key part of an ideal, low-maintenance, very cool aquarium — by asking important questions that are relevant in designing Tecker fish and many other kinds of technology. Sharing some of his own personal experiences plus those of entrepreneur and business magnate Steve Jobs, he illustrates how to achieve success. He challenges students to choose their projects by looking to tomorrow to see where things are headed, to position themselves accordingly, and then, with hard work and determination, to achieve their goal.

He observes that the world is changing, and when the world goes through a large period of change like we have today is when all the opportunities emerge for innovators.
